Dubai threw open its newly-completed Dh154-million Floating Bridge on 3, October 2007 in a splashy red-carpet soiree.

The floating bridge, a first-of-its-kind project in the UAE, is built out of 20-metre-wide hollow
concrete blocks that will float on water.
The floating bridge will allow about 6,000 vehicles to cross the creek every hour.
